Muscle Man!

I have been told by many people that both my boys are really skinny. Most times, I would brush the comments off with a "they are really active boys, and they burn off off fats easily". But sometimes, I look at them, and indeed I see the bones on their ribs protruding out, and I can't help wonder if I am malnourishing my kids. Perhaps I have to supplement their diet with some high protein muscle milk that would pump them up abit? What do you think?

I remembered my bro used to be active, short and skinny too when he's about 9/10 years old. He start to take lots of full cream milk, cheese suddenly when he's around 12/13 yrs, he shot up and now, 'got meat'. Think diet might hv some effect..

Don't pump them up too early. As they get older, they will start to fill up and with exercise, the 6 pack and muscles will start to appear. :)

People used to ask why I don't feed my son. He was all bones and skin. In fact, my girlfriend's husband teased him and called him abdominal guitar strings and he became so conscious that he refused to be in his bathers and sit around the pool. He would quickly jump into the pool.

He is not skinny now but tall and just nice and eats everything. If he was plumper when he was younger, he would have weight problems now based on the amount he eats.

The paedi always tell me that as long as they are happy and healthy - they are fine - no need for all those supplements! My kids are skinny too - even tho' they were all FAT babies. Lost all the fattiness when they started walking!!

Winniethepooh - My kids take a lot of full cream milk and cheese too, plus creamy pastas. Somehow, still really skinny. Will see how he is when he "shoots up"!

Judy - I tried to feed them with Paedisure Milk, but they weren't keen with the taste. S1 especially hated it. I also don't want to FORCE him. Really..both my kids RIBS really like guitar strings leh. I try to stuff them during breakfast and dinner. I don't know about lunch at school though. Don't know how they'll be when older. I also don't want them to be "FAT" lah..

Stay-at-home Mum - Mine are fairly healthy, I THINK!!! But I do give them supplements like spirulina, vitamins and cod liver oil. The paedisure milk, I sort of stopped as they hated the taste.
