I still had one more pair of contact lens this morning, but donno why thought they belonged to H. So hopped over to the optical shop to purchase another box ...... As my current pair of glasses has not been that clear lately, I decided to have my eyes checked as well. It has been ages since I last checked my eyes, think definitely more than 5 years.
Told the optician that my glasses aren't clear anymore...but my contacts are still okay. I can read, watch telly, drive with no problems with my contacts.
WALIOW!!! Had a shock to see that the computer read-out was -11.00.
Really gonna be BLIND liow!!!!!!!!
Manual checks brought down the requirement to -10.00.
This is still hell of a lot!!!
Immediately, I thought "Heck! No need to wait till I'm 40 to do Lasik lah. Think I wanna do it this Summer already!"
Told H to start saving money...to buy this very expensive birthday present for me.... and he agreed that at -10.00, Lasik is the way to go....
So, it's decided. Will do Lasik this summer when I am back in PJ. I've got to start reading up on this procedure and check out the latest developments in this treatment.
For eyes...cannot scrimp lah. Must be the best, ...safest and most effective with no side effects at all.
Currently, the best place to do it is over at The Curve??? Or where???
It's about RM 5 K per eye??
Anyway, got myself a new pair of glasses...from good 'ole Giorgio Armani. The guy brought out a really nice pair of Pradas...but the Prada is see-peh-kui, i.e double of the Giorgio one leh. And as the prescription was also see-peh high, I wanted the thinnest glass available.
WALIOW! Another shock. Costs like USD 150/- just for the lens.
SIOW!!!
So downgraded abit lah... opted for the Hi-Index one which was a third of the the price....
Can't collect till next Tuesday.... DON'T ask me why soooooo long one????

Oh, why not come to Sinjiapor? Here lasik like quite afforable, got those Lasik @ ard Orchard area, I think cost ard $3K for 2 eyes, always advertise one! Err LASIK cannot play play ma! I also almost can see very well with contact but with my glasses .. errr ... but lately I got lou fa leh, so I dont wan to do lasik , somemore SCARE OF PAIN leh , my sis in law did lasik but I heard ( twice ) her eyes ada infection leh , hv to take care one!
walaoeh, lasik rm5k per eye!!!! i recently saw a pair of glasses too, in klcc, focus point. blady rm550+ cus they say the lens keng wan, naik airplane wan. walao. then thin-kan wan.. sob, din buy ler, too expensif :(
Wait till you get presbyopia - then your lenses will cost even more (coz you would want the best tooo!!) Mine, inlcuding frame cost more than S$1000!!
i had a friend who done her eyes at RM2K plus in total, two eyes! and she's fine. even if it's not that cheap, it's now not that expensive. if you want, i can get contact for you. but remember to get a report from them, a reference, in case you need to see a specialist at where you stay for some reason.
right now, i am darned annoyed with my eyes. only one month old and still blurry. they say can take up to 3 months. so i wait lar, but not so patiently. can't read properly. it's all double vision as i am typing.
malaysia, if got local credit card, can pay instalment. good eh? can do it here in melb too but i get $500 discount for paying in total. so i save that $500 of course!

if your prescription is so high, LASIK won't "cure" it; it'll only bring it down a little. I thought about it (mine's -10.00 too) and it doesn't change my lifestyle per se (still have to wear contacts and glasses anyway) so what for

i know someone who's working for this company that does lasik, they hv outlets at various places..
BEE - I haven't really decided to do it in KL or Singapore. BUt in KL over the Summer Holidays, at least my parents can help entertain my kids.
I saw "lou fah" aso can do some special Lasik leh...
I have to say the more I read, the scarier i get...
Irene - The most recent iLasik is about RM 5 K per eye...other older tech would be cheaper. But of course for eyes, must go for best lah...
SAHM - Maybe you frames already SGD 900 is it?? Frames can also be so gila-y expensive one leh...
Sweetpea - RM 2 K for both eyes sounds kinda cheap leh. Where is this done?
But Like I said to Irene, eyes very important leh. I don't think I wanna scrimp on this if I were to go ahead. The more I read up, the more scared I become...

I had mine done more than 10 years ago & they are still in perfect condition except that now, presbyopia seems to be coming into the picture....apparently it comes earlier when your eyesight is perfect. I encourage you to do it cos it really saves alot of time & hassle. When I did mine it costs me about RM4k for both eyes. If you want to know which one I went to, you can PM me. :)
i heard there is one in uptown PJ is good. friend introduced to us and she did her lasik there. but i dont know how gd it is..

No wonder blind as a bat lah. 'Pou tai' day n night. :D Yeah, when it concerns the eyes, dun play play. Better go to reputable ones.
