I'll be home for Christmas...

Yup!! We'll be back for Christmas. Boys and I are flying off next Wednesday, i.e. 20th Dec - 5 more days to go. H will only be flying back on the 22nd Dec, after work. Originally, all of us were to depart KLIA on New Year's Eve but there's been a change of plans. H's boss "suggested" that he don't take the week off. Their company merged with another, and they are integrating their admin&operations... They will all be working for the NEW merged-company come 1st Jan 2007. So now, H's booked to fly back on the Christmas Day! Yup! Christmas Day wor... Boxing Day is a working day maa... But we'll still stick to our original plan of departing KLIA on 31st Dec.

So, with this change, we have to postpone our supposedly getaway. Originally, we wanted to dump the two boys with their grandparents and we jet off one..now where can?? And then H said go to the States in January wor.. Aiya wait for him to book flights first, then I need to go make my American Visa. Hope they don't think that I want to "tiu fei kei" and work as dishwasher woman in Americano... :-P

Back to me being back home... Call me to have tea/lunch/dinner OKAY? Call my mom's house lah....

Have to load up on some stuff too ...eg, Campbell's soup, Maggi Mee, Colgate.. Here got lah...but kinda expensive leh. Campbell's soup, in Malaysia is like RM 3.19 for a can, over here it's like USD 1.70. Colgate is USD 2.10 for the 175 g tube. Dettol is USD 2.60 for 250 mL. No lah..not all brands so expensive...think Colgate is expensive because it's imported..you can actually get toothpaste by Unilever (they have manufacturing here) for 70 US cents for 175 g tube..but we are not used to the taste lah... Buying groceries here must be very very vigilant one. Things may look the same, but if you pick up something that's imported, the price can be scarily high... like Milo. Saw this imported Milo (from some European country, cannot remember liow) which costs USD 10 per tin. But the locally manufactured Milo (by the local Nestle la...not bootleg ones) is like USD 1.20. Siow or not???

Year 2 Christmas Carols....

Ho! Ho! Ho! Merry Christmas!!!!

Okay..abit early lah..but went to S2's Christmas Carols at school this afternoon. Wanted to include the short video clip, but don't know how..so, just the picture for the moment until I improve on my blogging skills.

Sports Day!!!

Tuesday, 12th December 2006
It was the Primary School's Sports Day.... Of course, good mommy such as I am (ahem! ahem!) went to show support lah. As S1's house colour is RED, obviously I wore RED in support for his team ler.. I had RED slippers and RED cap too. He he he...
Anyway, S1 took part in the long jump and 80 m hurdles. For the long jump (boys), he was 4th out of 7 jumpers. His final jump was actually quite good, but was struck-out because he stepped on the plank. As the the 80 m hurdles, he came out third out of four runners. He was quite close to the second guy lah. Here, S1 is seen with some of his team mates. Overall, their House came out Second. Only ten points behind the champions...

Oh No!! Maid destroyed my Top!!

*Sigh* My maid just came to tell me that she ironed my top and "something happened". Spoilt say spoitl lah... something happen wor. What the heck is that? I told her to just bring it to me to show me. And you guessed it, she ironed it when it's not supposed to be ironed lor. I bought the top in Canada some more...where to find now?? Surprisingly, I didn't scream at her. No point ler. Just told her to LOOK at the label next time, or ask me. I think she also very smart lah, before she told me about my top, she handed me about RM 20 and said that H left it in his pocket....show me she's honest first, then break the bad news on my baju. Well,...it there's any consolation, all my previous maids that's worked for me (for a decent amount of time) sure got burn one of my garment during ironing one... so, maybe it's a sign that this maid will work for me for awhile???

Looking on the BRIGHT side of things...

Finally...Booking Done!!

Countdown to Bangkok....
After numerous hours of trying to book my flight on Singapore Airlines...I finally did it!! But wariao...so expensive lah. My return flight to Bangkok costs USD 417/-. "Paeng makk". For those who don't know, going to Bangkok with a bunch of patt-pohs in January '07...5 other patt-pohs actually. They are all flying AirAsia from KUL to BKK. So, meeting them at BKK Airport. My flight's arriving 20 minutes later than theirs, so they got to wait for me alittle bit lor.

Staying one extra day... cause otherwise the return flight timing very leceh. My patt-poh friend said "Wa..you stay one day extra, not scared ah? Don't pick up strangers!!" Anyway, want to meet up with my ex-landlady for dinner. Texted her about my impending visit and she was like so excited... So.. Now, just have to surf to search for discount hotels...

General Updates - 11 Dec 2006

Not alot of updates....

Friday, 8th Dec 2006
H and I went to a dinner held at the Le Meridien with other parents of S2's class and the class teacher (without kids.. and S2 was like "Not fair. I want to go see my teacher!"). Went to the middle eastern restaurant. Starter was quite good, but the main (I chose the mixed grill) was damn dry man. I took a bite of the bbq minced something and couldn't swallow it. Want to "pui" it out also don't know where to "pui". Had to get it down into my throat with a BIG gulp of my white wine. Wa... horrible-est mixed grill I ever had. Teacher said that S2 look just like H... this is the first time she has met H. I've been telling her that S2's bad spelling is from H. Hee hee :-)

Saturday, 9th Dec 2006
Went round looking for a TV stand around our area. H drove (gave driver the day off) and had a very very close call. Stupid motorcyclist whizzed across our path as we were turning. Really really "zhang tit tit" langgar the fella. Really idiots that don't give a damn about their lives!! ...Didn't find anything lah. Things like very expensive.. and H was very irritated with the pricing (???) and then like want to fight with those salespeople... Aiya, what for??

Also, S1 had a angmoh friend over to play. They played games, swam and played more games. Was gonna serve the kids Penang Char Kway Teow, but H said that the "kweichai" don't know how to eat lah.. and so I gave him a choice of Fried Kway Teow or leftover macaronin and cheese...obviously, he chose the mac&cheese lor.

Sunday 10th Dec 2006
Took boys to their swimming class. Wariow....their coach was training the boys to use their muscles... and they had to swim freestyle with just their arms. Legs had to "kiap" a piece of foam and not move. So ciatlatt... I see them also like so very very difficult. Have to say the boys are quite good now. But of course room for more improvement. Am surprised with S2 especially. He was sooooooo afraid of the water in the beginning of the term, and now, he can swim 25 m freestyle non-stop and quite ada gaya somemore...

From swimming, we had to rush to town for S2's friend's birthday party at the bowling alley. Dropped H and S1 off at a mall (S1 donwan to follow...thinks the birthday party all kiddies). Wa.. the party pack like very good wor. There's a Superman bag, Superman pencil case, A superman file/notebook and some crayons. Am worried when S2's birthday comes in February. I so cheapo... don't know leh.. Aiya..worry later lah hor..

Went home..slept like a pig...Really like Pig only man. Anyway, H then woke me up. Had to get ready to go to Hard Rock Cafe by 7 pm. H was meeting some colleagues to check out the band playing there..they want to have a company party wor.. So, we (kids and I) tagged along... When we reached there, there was a MEGA long Q. But think had some arrangement with the manager, so didn't Q lah. Of course, HRC was bloody loud lah...Boys were complaining like crazy. I told S1.. give a few years..you don't go lie to me and go to discos.. and S1 said "I will never go to discos forever!"... Yeah, right!!! As company paying, KIASU me stuffed myself lah..think the final chocolate sundae was the killer. Balik rumah, burped and then my dinner ended up in the porcelain throne!!! Yuck!!!

Monday, 11th Dec 2006
Supposed to go Yoga, but "thim patt chi" the place has some do and yoga class was cancelled. So din go. So, stayed at home to try to book my Bangkok ticket ... something wrong so cannot book. So got to try again later. So sien....

I am a MAN!!

My 9 year old announced "I am a man!" today.... I was like "arrr??" and then he added "I may not look like a man. BUT I feel like a man!!" and then stormed off?? Is my baby really turning into a man?? He told me he's got something on his chin...I think it's a pimple. And his molar is loose. The last time I met with his dentist, he said that milk-molars normally will be replaced at the age of 11 years. But my boy is only 9! And not 9-going-to-10.... kind. He just turned 9 not so long ago.

Someone sent me an article "10 is the new 13" or something like that. It cites that kids these days are acting more like teenagers earlier, i.e 10... Gosh.. I very takut lah. Oh yeah.. and he came back today telling me about ??? (cannot remember name) has a crush on a girl named Helen. 9 years old?? Hellllloooooo????

Australian/NZ Christmas Bazaar

Went to the ANZA Christmas Bazaar last Tuesday with mom. These are some of the stuff that I got.... When I showed H the costume jewellery, he was like "oh my god! What happened to your taste??" ... hehehe.. Actually, when I was looking at them, I was like saying "sure H will say 'what happened to your taste these days?'" ... I was right, huh? But I thought quite nice what.. also these days, these things are very "hing".

This pair costs about RM 30. It's those look-alike-jade thingys with chinese knots.

The necklace is about RM 120, and it's from turquoise. Kinda like turquoisey things.. The earring very cheap, only RM 10.

Shoes are from some kind of skin.. whether cow or snake or whatever..but costs RM 80 a pair. No..have not shown H these shoes yet.

Anyway, mom was shopping with me (we left granny in the house with the maid) and she said "angmoh all buy lapp sapp" as she surveyed all the mm-sam-mm-sei stuff on display. Ha ha ha.. but she did buy some patterned cloth wine bags with batik motif, and she's still figuring out what she's gonna do with them. She's also wondering where were the paper wine bags that she bought in Thailand donkey years ago... At least 5 years ago!!! When I was living there!!! Probably all makan by moths already, I reckoned!!

As I was saying, we left grandma in the house... we left the house like at 9 am and was gone till about 3.50 pm. According to my maid, grandma was pacing and she kept asking her to "sleep". And grandma on the other hand told me the same thing..that maid ask her to sleep.. and she asked the maid what time boys coming back etc etc.. I was amazed with the "kai thoong ngap kong" ... both of them actually understood each other. Well, grandma obviously was very restless lah.. and queried us why we were sooooo long! We went to bazaar, had lunch, then went to buy some layer cake for gifts and then off to the the supermarket to buy groceries for dinner (we had our local relative over for dinner that night) wor.. of course took longer than usual..plus the traffic jams were a killer that day...

Present from H

H came back from the States last week... bought me tons of US magazines. Of course not finished reading lah. As it is, have not even finish reading (or even started on some) those that he bought from Singapore. And also bought me this Tod's Wallet. I supposed I must have not shown enough enthusiasm when he gave it to me as he asked "you don't like it?". Instead of saying "thanks", I should have gone "oh my gawd! It's soooooo beautiful. I love it! It's always what I wanted. Lei tui ngo chann hai hou ker chiek! muak! muak! "

But I did tell him that I loved the Bose iPod docking station that he bought for the house. Really made the house livelier..not so quiet when boys not around. He seemed delighted that I actually liked it. Guessed the way to make a man happy is to show that he's made you happy... (Important lesson!!)

More about my Boys...Angels and Demons..

Angels...
S2 came into H's TV room last night while I was watching telly, and S1 followed suit while holding onto my laptop. I was gonna scream at them already (for moving my laptop all over the place as they might drop it on the floor or whatever) and then S2 said "mom, I put flowers onto your desktop. I found the flowers in the internet and downloaded it. I gave you the flowers because you are such a good and wonderful mom!". Aiyo...like that how to scold???? I was gonna upload the flowers onto this post, but dumbo-gal dunno how to do it lah...

and Demons...
S1 came back from school the other day and went "douddididaday..?" and I was like "huh? what?", and he went "doudididdaday?"... and guessed what? He then told me "mom, if you slow it down, it says Do you lick a dick a day?"

Alamak!!! What do they learn from school?? And then S1 added "mom, you know ar..the British call the chiow-chiow Dick! Why do they call the chiow-chiow Dick?" . How to answer this kind of question?? When I told H, he looked at me and then ask me "how about you lick a dick a day? ". H aside, back to boys,... guessed it's the part and parcel of growing up. At least, he's sharing such things with me.

I have a friend, she has two boys too, but hers are already 15 and 13 years old... she told me what her boys said..damn funny. She said her younger one said "aiya.. kor-kor everyday play with himself one, that's why always tired" and also one time, her younger one pulled the mother's hand and put it onto his groin and said "mommy-ah ..mor lit tou hou song ar"... ha ha ha. I asked her what did she say to him...all she said was "it's like that one. That is life!"... ha ha ha .

Oh..friend's nephew went up to the grandma and said "Ah-Ma, you have breasts and I have nipples!"...

Hahaha KIDS....

My Boys....

S1 is gonna take part in his Sports Day next Tuesday.. He's gonna be taking part in the 60 m dash and long jump. So, dear ole mommy will go to school to cheer for him! Afterall, mommy was a cheerleader once-upon-a-time!!! Kekeke.. that's donkey years ago.. Kekeke..

As for S2, S2's got a Christmas Carol Performance next Wednesday...Of course, I will go and see his performance la..choong sai munn meh??!!!??. Have to say that he knows quite a lot of songs.. Am impressed with my little baby. Okay, not so baby anymore.

Then..Friday, 15th Dec will be the last day of school... S2 will be ecstatic!! When we were still in KL, S2 used to say "I love School in November and December the BEST! Cause it's holiday time!! Ha ha ha".. and when he went into the British School, he was like "huh?? You mean I have school in November and December??"

Speaking of school.. need to polish-up on my general knowledge.. S2 came back the other and announced "the inventions of George Stevenson, Wright Brothers and Henry Ford". I knew the latter two..but was wondering "who the hell is George Stevenson?". S2 told me that he is the inventor of Steam engine wor... Had to check up on the web leh.. So cialatt.. And he learnt about Gunpowder Plot & Guy Fawkes and I was like "huh? huh?". S1 on the other hand is doing Ancient Greece. Again, I was like "huh? huh?". Lann See H has great interests in history, thus read alot about world history and such. Of course he then knows all about Ancient Greece and Gunpowder Plot stuff la.. and lann see lann yong lah.. with "your mother dont know one lah..ask me lah". Aye.. even better still...kids no need my help for homework. I go tidur better still...

Have Not Been Well...

Have not been feeling well yesterday. Woke up fine, had some cookies and milk for breakfast (boys were having it and it was easy...as maid was on her off-day). Not long later, felt like crap...went to have a nap. Woke up, made some udon soup for lunch for the boys (just the two boys...H went for a golf tournament...). Ate a little bit as don't feel too well. Arms and Legs were kinda lembik and the belly like very funny feeling. Gave boys the passport to heaven, i.e. play their PS2 and Gameboys while I nap more... Later in the evening, told H that I weren't feeling well..and his first question was "you are not pregnant, are you??" . Well..no lah.. Of course not pregnant lah.. Told a friend and she said "ha ha ha..you must be allergic to semen!" Aiyo... Well, went to bed at 7 PM last night...MEGA EARLY!!

Anyway, think it's a bout of food poisoning of some sort. This morning, went to the loo a couple of times.. At least the kaki/tangan lembik-ness is gone.

Dumbo-Gal Does it with Some Help...

Aiyo..finally after hours of twiddling, I managed to paste the ticker onto the blog..but still not where I want it to be. Will have to redo it another day... But better than none ler..

Dumbo-Gal...

For a person with fairly high intelligence, I have to say that I am one real DUMBO when in comes to computers and such. Fiddled for sooooo long, still cannot get the Lilipie Birthday tickers into my blog. Aiyo... Give up until the next day lah...
