Yes. We R Going...

Yes. We've decided to keep to our original plans and go to Hong Kong this Friday. Actually...am trying to bring forward the flight to Thursday as it's a public holiday. Think it's also a holiday in Malaysia? The next day, Good Friday is also a public holiday here.

We are going because :-
1) The flu is of the common flu strains, and not something more sinister than originally thought.
2) We've had our flu shots.
3) The two-week holiday is NOT because of the flu. It's actually the scheduled Easter Term Break. Just close a few days earlier than scheduled.

Speaking of flu shots. Wa-liow...gila one lah.. the way the clinic charges. Just 4 of us have flu shots, and H an additional thyphoid shot cost USD 190!!! Gila or not? I'm sure if you do it at a regular clinic, it probably cost a quarter of that amount!!! Aiyo...we went to the expat clinic lah..(but all local doctors practising) Why? Very close to our house ~ 600 m, and our insurance pays direct to the clinic. No need to have out-of-pocket maaa.... But still??? Cut throat man!!

USD 190 for 4 flu shots? LOL
Well, I got free flu shot in the office, I know that for one shot, it cost only about USD 8 - USD 10.

As an expatriate, there's bad and good side.

Bad = mostly expatriates are charged much more expensive compare to the local people.
Good = the bills will be reimbursed by the company ;)

Have fun in Hong Kong!!!

Blog about where you want, what you ate....so my daughter will have some ideas what she could do.

She is going to stay at Holiday Inn, Golden Mile. Hope she will make the most of it.

You enjoy your holidays. Eat and shop loads.....let's see, what do I need? :P

Notebooks - Thanks. But your blog is in Portuguese? Sorry. Can't comprehend. :-)

Misha's Mum - Read that the flu strains are of the norm, and that the victims died from complications and not as a direct result of the flu.
Anyway, how to not touch here and there if we wanna go on the rides in Disneyland and Ocean Park?? Must bring disinfectant sprays with me then... :-)

Sting - Thanks :-)

bp - Must starve now to stuff myself. Hahahahah

SAHM - We'll see where our host takes us. :-)

Dancing Queen - Staying with my girlfriend and family. Free Lodging :-D
But I like the Excelsior Hotel...central to everything!

Selba - Plus 1 thyphoid jab lah. The flu shot at your office soooo cheap??? You sure or not? The imported vaccine also quite expensive also, right? I saw the cost that is stamped on the box says USD 16 wor. USD 10 can have jab already? Sure or not? Maybe just the doc's fees?

Judy - Me going with boys lah. Will be Disneyland, OceanPark leh. No interest for your grown-up daughter wor. Plus trip is basically to catch up with friends wor.. Not a real shopaholic like Laundryamah leh...
