Reading Tutors

{Sponsored Post}

After just one week at his new school, S2's teacher wanted to see me. She was concerned with S2's reading. Whilst he reads like an 8-year old (he was 6 then), he could not "word attack", i.e. he reads by memorising the words, and do not know how to attempt to read new words. To improve his reading skills, he had to undergo a special reading tutoring program. So, even if your child can read, he or she may not be performing optimally. Reading Tutors can help your child progress from a poor reader to an excellent one!

Party and Pressie

Took S2 to his friend's Birthday Party yesterday. It was a Bowling Party... It was one that involved parents too! Of course, I bowled too lah... Heehee Kicked a$$ with a score of 140. Most of the other mommies bowled between a 70 and a 99. Bowled with the house ball :-) and then news about me bowling for my uni spread like wildfire....

Anyway, our present for the birthday boy was wrapped up REAL nice, like a shirt!! Nope. Not wrapped by me. I am not good in wrapping pressies, especially not very patient in recent times! Is it a shirt inside? Nope. It's a book and a robot-like transformer thingy...

Body Building Supplements

{Sponsored Post}
At times, my boys will complain about their weekly Saturday Swimming lessons. My response is always the same "next time, when you have a hot bod like a god, then you'll thank me!".
"Why?" asked the boys.
"Well, have you ever seen a statue of a Greek God that is fat or paunchy or skinny like a stick? They always have really well built bodies. Don't they? Swimming will make your bodies look like those Greek Gods!"
This is a statue of Zeus that I took in Athens. Look at his six-pack body!!
Well, I guessed there are alternative ways to build up one's body to look like a Greek God!

Home Alone!!!

Yeap! It's Saturday night. And I am home alone!

S1 went to watch "Fantastic Four, Rise of the Silver Surfer" with his pal T (chaperoned by T's dad, of course) this afternoon, followed by a sleepover at T's house tonight. So...that's one down.

A while ago, both H and S2 was still around. And then H suddenly came into the room at 8 pm and said "I am going out to watch Fantastic Four with S2. You wanna come?" Well, we've had a silly fight today and thought that he was joking and just trying to break the ice. It was kinda late!! I merajuk and said "NO".... So, still lay in bed then thought how come the house sooooo quiet. Went to check just. Waaaaa. This two fellas really gone out already wor... Driver already went home at 5 pm this evening, so H drove.

And today is maid's day off....so, maid also not around. Basically, just the security guard out at his post.

Actually, our Dutch neighbour invited us to their house tonight for their farewell. Yup. Leaving the country. But have been soooooo tired today (had to pick S2 up from school at 8 am from his School Sleepover - more about that later, then took the boys for breakfast, then their swimming class at school, come home, have lunch, and then take S2 to his classmate's birthday party) so declined their invitation. Very loud live music playing next door now....

Gifts from S1

It's Infant School Charity Book Sale at the boys' school today.

This is what S1 bought for me...

And this, he bought for his father.

He came back from school, showed me these two items and declared "I didn't buy anything for myself! Just for you and daddy!". BUT the thing is....I didn't give him any money for the Charity Book Sale, as I thought it only involved the Infant School kids (S2 is still in Infant School). SO, where did he get the money??? Apparently, his friend had TOOOOO much, and gave him some! WAAAAAH... Some kids so rich, giving out money to school friends!!! Of course, we'll have to return the money to his friend tomorrow!!!

S2 on the other hand, bought books for himself. BUT gave some bullshit excuse as to why he didn't buy me or his dad stuff!! Your typical salesman!!! He bought the following two books.

I only gave S2 enough money for one book. As you can see...he bought two books. Apparently, one of S1's friend gave him an extra voucher for the second book. Well, again...have to return the money tomorrow...

Men's Underwear

{Sponsored Post}

Apparently, the average woman shops over 350 hours per year! Is that a whole lot of hours or what? I guessed some of those hours are to shop for our beloved partners, be it clothing, shaving cream, socks or even underwear!
I, for one do buy my man's underwear. Well, so far, just boxers and briefs. Nothing fancy. And definitely not G-strings! What? Blogging taken over your shopping hours?? Well, there's always online shopping!! There's a great online store that sells a whole range of mens underwear? Yes. Even G-strings. It's DUGG - Down Under Guys Gear, and they carry stock from all the great brands that you can think of! An Australian-based company, free shipping is offered for domestic orders above AUD 50. Not in Australia? Fret Not! Free shipping is available ANYwhere for orders above AUD 80.
Wait No More! As till end-June, 4 GB iPod Nanos are to be won!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MOM!!

It's MOM's birthday TODAY!

Since she doesn't want FLOWERS nor a CAKE delivered...I guessed I would have to do a VIRTUAL flowers and cake delivery!!!

Here is the cake!

And here are the flowers!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!
I LOVE YOU, MOM!!!
p/s Will get you an "un-birthday" cake when I come home in 4 weeks time!!

Scrapbooking Supplies

One of our fellow Scrapbooker's scrapbooking style has changed. So...she is hawking off some of her supplies... Here is a selection of the papers that I got from her.

She also has a set of shape-cutters for sale for about USD 40. At first, I thought a tad expensive. But as I was on the way home, I thought that maybe I should just get it off her as it would be much more expensive if I were to buy them new. She did say that she paid about USD 100 for the complete set..Don't know what is the brand though..but she's upgraded to the "Creative Memories" set which costs a BIGGER bomb!

As she's off to Singapore next week for shopping (to increase her already BIG stash of scrapbooking stuff), I won't be seeing her until the following week. SHUCKS! No playing with my new toy till the week after next! :-(

Party Planning - Part 3

Thought that I've done quite alot of Pirate's bandanas but a quick count revealed that I've only done six! ALAMAK!! Still have half a dozen more to go. It's quite easy to make...all I need is a long black cloth of about 3 inches wide (my dear 'ole friend in HK taught me how to do this :-D) and then draw the skull on. At first, I used white marker but the white didn't stand out well. So, switched to using white correction fluid. Had to exercise those finger muscles!!!
This is the other Jolly Roger that I've made. S1 coloured the whites with crayon and stuck the red paper for the Pirate's bandana. Again, the whites doesn't stand out well. So, guessed we have to go over with either poster paints or acrylics....
While making all these Pirates stuff, S2 came up and said "Not Fair!! Kor-Kor's party much more fun than mine!!". How ah? Like that??? S2 had a Pokemon Splash Party in February. Cannot exactly make Pokemon costumes for the kids, right? I did make Pokemon Posters, printed out Pokemon BINGO cards, bought Pokemon Stickers etc for his party, made water "bomb's". What else is there?? Aiya..when you have two or more kids...sure will have lots of "not fairs" one lah...
In case anyone is also planning for a Pirates Party, click on the following for some ideas...

Scrapbooking Tuesdays...

Went to my weekly scrapbooking session yesterday... wanted to scrap my Greece Trip but found that I didn't have all the necessary coloured paper to make them attractive. Tried scraping S1's Year 5 Perfomance. Same thing. The paper colour was not right. So, decided to make some embellishments. A lady there was really good at making them and gave me some ideas. Made these yesterday.
I know. I know. If I were to scrap digitally, I wouldn't have such problems... but you know me.. am a old fashioned gal... I like to have my photos and documents in hardcopy form. :-)
I was a real "paper waster" when I was working....used to print out alllllll the documents instead of reading from my PC.
H was commenting "what's so difficult about scrapbooking? Just cut cut. Paste paste!" ...
My answer?? To go and "patt" and chit-chat lah... Heheheh... and also to have coffee and scones with all the lashings of whipped cream and jam!!

Celebrity Wannabes...

{Sponsored Post}

Do you secretly yearn to be a celebrity? The Fame! The Glamour! The Attention! The Screaming Fans!
Come on! Let's be honest! I am sure whenever someone tells you "Hey! I think you look like the actress/actor/personality in XYZ show/movie", you may answer with "Oh No! I don't think so!". BUT inside, you are gloating and grinning like a Cheshire Cat!!!

Well, you may not be a real celebrity, but you sure can look like one.....HOW? You asked. Very simply! Just don on a pair of Top Designer Eyewear!!! Just think Jackie O and her trademark LARGE sunglasses. Or Paris Hilton with hers. All you have to do is select your chosen celebrity's style of designer sunglasses, and you are almost half way there!! Easy Peasy....

Party Planning - Part 2

Continuation from Part 1: One of the Jolly Rogers that I've made. Still need to darken the whites with perhaps poster or acrylic paints. Am gonna use this as part of the decor.

And here is a sample of the birthday invites. To get the "old" effect, I used a lighter to burn the edges. Almost burned down the house!! The white bits are just parts that I blanco out our contact numbers.... :-)

Value Stairlifts...

{Sponsored Post}

It has been almost three years since my beloved grandmother passed away. Towards the last few months of her life, despite of her health deteriorating, she refused to move to a bedroom that is on the ground floor. She insisted on the creature comforts of her own room, one that's been so familiar; but unfortunately located on the first floor of our house. Although she could walk fairly well, climbing up the stairs was a totally different matter. She would trudge very very slowly up the stairs, panting with every step. It was heart-wrenching to watch her climb up the stairs. If only we have installed a stairlift then. It would have greatly alleviate her suffering; and accord her with more freedom around the house. Thus, if you have a loved one in such a situation, do consider installing a stairlift. To help you select and purchase the right stairlift, visit Value Stairlifts . They have a range of models such as straight, curved, outdoor etc to suit your specific needs. Reconditioned stairlifts are also available for the budget-conscious.

Party Planning - Part 1

As per my previous post about Birthdays, I am planning a "Pirates of the Caribbean" party for S1's 10th Birthday. So...have been busy the last few days... Spent my weekend sewing out the Loot Bags, and then drawing out the "East India Trading Company" logo on those bags. Here's a sample of them...

This is how they look like when they are filled with GOODIES...

This is a treasure map that I've drawn... to be used for "Pin the Treasure" instead of the traditional "Pin the Donkey"... Think need to darken some parts a wee bit..

Am currently working on the Jolly Rogers, pirate's bandanas for the boys, a treasure chest for their treasure hunt game... NOPE, don't think I will bake the cake lah.. Too lazy and challenging!!! Will just buy lah...

Drug Rehab

{Sponsored Post}
'
Recently, I received news from the grapewine about some expatriate teenagers (from another international school) being caught red-handed with drugs by the local police.
It shook many parents in the expat community, to know that drugs are freely available to our children in this city. We dread to think that our kids would have easy access to these substances, and somehow a "dare" to experiment would lead to full-blown addiction. It's every parents' nightmare! Where would we be able to get the necessary addiction treatment? To stop the addiction before their young life is destroyed? Where can we seek help?
In the US, Stone Hawk may be the place.

Funny Joke..

A LIE YET NOT A LIE....SKILLFUL SPEECH

A distinguished young woman on a flight from Switzerland asked the priest beside her, "Father, may I ask a favour?"
"Of course. What may I do for you?">
"Well, I bought an expensive electronic hair dryer that is well over the customs limits and I'm afraid they'll confiscate it. Is there anyway you could carry it through Customs for me? Under your robes perhaps?"
"I would love to help you, dear, but I must warn you: I will not lie."
"With your honest face, Father, no one will question you."
When they got to Customs, she let the priest go ahead of her. The official asked, "Father, do you have anything to declare?"
"From the top of my head down to my waist, I have nothing to declare."
The official thought this answer strange, so asked, "And what do you have to declare from your waist to the floor?"
"I have a marvellous little instrument designed to be used on a woman, but which is, to date, unused."
Roaring with laughter, the official said, "Go ahead, Father." Next!

WANTED - Gardener!!

Have you seen this man?? He's WANTED!!!
I've been looking HIGH and LOW for him to be my gardener!!!
No? Cannot find him??? Where can he be??

Hahaha.. Well, still no gardener yet... so was cutting the grass on my front yard this evening. Want to die liow. Arms also gone jello. Some more not yet completed. Actually, we have a lawnmower but because my previous scrawny gardener has been sooooo lazy; he has not cutting the grass at all, not even with the ease of a lawnmower. As a result, the grass has grown SOOOOO thick that the lawnmower won't cut. So, have to manually use those huge gardening scissors (don't know what's the right term). Luckily, the back yard is better.... I actually made S1 mow the lawn!! Hahaha... in exchange for extra hours of GAME time!!! KEKEKE...

WARNING!!! Gross Post!

A Post about DETOX....So, don't vomit!!

You know those "foot detox" that you see in the shopping centers? (I know 1Utama LG has one shop that does it...the shop is somewhat opposite to Rotiboy..)The ones where you soak your feet into a basin of water, and the water gets dirty and yucky???

Well, I did it last Tuesday! A Mat Salleh friend swears by it! She said that whenever she does it, she feels sooooo refreshed and never fall sick for at least a month and suggested that I go (as told her about my bad skin blah blah blah)...so off I went.

- Of course the water was crystal clear at the start.
- Feet are first cleaned in a separate basin.
- Then feet inserted into this basin c/w gadget.
- See some bubbles(?) coming out of the gadget
(I think the gadget ionizes the water somehow or other)
- Gradually, water turns darker and darker and even have residue

Being the natural-born skeptic, I thought the "black and dark" stuff were coming out of the gadget to "trick" people lah... but after observing the water and the gadget itself, think toxins are really drawn out through the pores in the feet!

Why do I say that?
There were actually solid residue at the bottom of the basin, plus some floating on the water. (Lady said for smokers, the colour will even be darker and more floating-type residue) The gadget has only an electrical cable connected to the "generator" and has no external tube that feeds it stuff. I looked at the gadget after she took it out of the water. It looks like one of those "Electrical Mosquito Trap". So, how to PUMP residue into the water? So...real one lah...

I think this works in the same way as those Japanese Plasters (you can buy it in most pharmacies. Mom gave me some to try some months back)...except that the Japanese plasters are herbal and this is a more "technological"method... The Japanese Plasters have dry herbs in it, you stick it at the base of your feet and then go to bed. The next morning, you would see that the dry herbs have turned black and somewhat slimey.... So. Same Principle here.

I donno but I think it's working a little bit. The skin on my soles has been "hardening" (besides cracking) and after this one session, I have to say it has somewhat soften. Perhaps I had a lot of toxins that were STUCK at my feet with no where to go?? And this detox session RELEASED some of it out???? I will go again next week....will report back ...

Dance Mat Typing for Kids

NO! This is NOT a Sponsored Post.

I just want to tell mommies out there in blogsphere about this great "Learn to Type" site on BBC. The link is www.bbc.co.uk/schools/typing. Found out about this site from S2. The kids in his class are using this site to learn to type.. There are a total of 12 stages, and it's got animation and such. At the end of Stage 12, typing speed will be assessed (errr....think my typing speed is about 56 wpm... I have to say that learning to touch-type is one of the best skills that I've acquired.... so this site can be used for adults too!!!).

As the boys have only joined the British System this school year, S1 has missed out on this Year 2 curriculum. So, he's now just learning to type and is at Stage 2 (S2 did this earlier in school, and thus is in Stage 3).

PAYjr Teen Prepaid Card

{Sponsored Post}

I have recently started giving S1 weekly allowance of approximately USD 5. As he is rather blasé about stuff, I do not physically give him the money. Instead, I make him record in a booklet, which I sign weekly to "indicate" that he has his weekly USD 5. He has to use his allowance to purchase his wants, such as DVDs, PS2 games etc. Oh! Yes. He also has to pay for damages in the house! (The other day, he thought that he was Bruce Lee and somehow damaged my mosquito screen. So, the cost of repair will be borne by him!) These expenditure will be deducted from his booklet.

I guessed the time will come where he no longer accepts this arrangement, and I would have to give him cold hard cash, which would be difficult to monitor what and how he spends it.

Alternatively, I could use PAYjr Teen Prepaid card. S1 would still have the freedom and flexibility of spending his allowance, and I would still be able to monitor the card activity on his spending habits! I can add money or suspend the card whenever I want. In short, I will be in control! Isn't this a great tool for moms and dads???

Math Tutors

{Sponsored Post}

S2 has just completed his Key Stage 1 SATs (Statuatory Assessment Tests) and he said to me "I am better than some of my friends. But it's so difficult to beat EH and N! They are so good in their Maths!". The two boys that S1 mentioned do participate in additional Math tutoring. Perhaps I need to send S2 to Math Tutors too!!! How else are we gonna keep up with the Jones'??

Pet Bunny

S1 came home and announced that he wants a pet bunny. Well, you know me... not really an animal person lah... BUT a friend said that letting kids keep a pet is GOOD wor... apparently brings out the caring and compassionate side of them. S1's pal, T has a pet bunny and so does his two siblings, each caring for their own. Their mom says that it's really wonderful to watch T run out to the bunnies in the morning to make sure that his bunny has food and water, and he'll bring it out, stroke it, play with it, sayang it. S1 goes round to their house quite often (going again tomorrow) and he talks about the bunnies all the time.
So, I guessed I'll have to get him one. But most probably after the Summer break lah since we will be going back to Malaysia soon. The bummer is the cleaning of the shit and stuff. T's family has a full-time gardener/handyman and this guy does the cleaning-up. I don't have a full-time guy (heck! Don't even have a part-timer now!)....so told S1 that he has to be responsible for the cleaning too, with some help from the maid lah.... And he actually said OK!
Previously, S2 wanted pet goldfishes...so off I went to buy a tank, filter and goldfishes. AIYO ...but they poo soooooo much that instead of cleaning once a month, I end up cleaning once every week. So SIEN. So got rid of everything. S2 also "bo-chap" one.... I look at the fishes more than he does! Hopefully, S1 really really will take care of his pet. Can flush the goldfish down the loo but certainly can't flush a bunny...it'll clog my pipes!!!!!

Orlando Fun

{Sponsored Post}

A long long time ago, H and I went on a two-week vacation in Orlando. The return flight tickets from London Gatwick, 2-week accommodation plus car rental worked out to be rather cheap and affordable (but back then, we were still spending our parents' hard-earned dosh!!). The SHOCKER was the astronomical cost of admission tickets to the Orlando Attractions! Disney World! Universal Studios! Plus all the other admission tickets to SeaWorld, Busch Gardens, Kennedy Space Center etc were gonna burn a hole in our very shallow pockets! Back then, I saw loads of discount ticket booths along Universal Drive, hawking discount admission tickets. Of course I was very very tempted to purchase from these booths!! BUT had a naggy feeling that doubted the authenticity of these establishments, thus purchased the said-tickets at the theme park entrance. I have to say that it did burn a hole in our pockets! Now, if I were to bring the boys to Orlando, I will definitely get my Cheap Universal Studios Tickets plus other available discount tickets from OrlandoFunTickets, the largest ticket discount store in Florida. What's most important is that they are LICENSED and BONDED and I can be assured that my tickets are GOOD FOR ENTRY!!!

First Golf Lesson

This morning was my first ever golf lesson....

Happily took out my Reebok trainers (which has been in storage for 3 or 4 years???), wore it and discovered that the shoe somehow had shrunk away from the rubber base. See the photo? It's about 6 mm difference! The front of the shoe base was also peeling off. What to do?? Still had to wear it what. Have no other trainers. Can't exactly wear my open-toed sequined sandals to the driving range, right?

Somehow ah..I seem to be able to hit better when taught by a stranger. I remember when H used to teach me....aiyo...sure end up bergaduh one. The golf pro says I not flexible wor... so, have to twist twist the waist with the guide of a basketball as homework!! Next lesson is next Friday...and he says we can practise on the green! Can't wait!

Debt. Can we avoid it?

{Sponsored Post}

Debt. Can we avoid it?

For the majority of us, the answer would be a big fat NO. Unless we happen to call Bill Gates of Richard Branson daddy! Even the simplest most frugal folk would have a debt in the guise of a home mortgage. According to recent reports, last year saw a steep rise in the number of people that had debt problems, and are at risk of bankruptcies and losing their homes. Are these people BIG spenders? The answer may surprise you. These are average, hard-working people who don't over-pay, nor are shopaholics and do not own bigger houses than they could. So why are these debt conscious homeowners going bankrupt? Rising costs of living is a key factor. Read here for more...

In addition, there are these great big mortgage moguls that try to push for 130% mortgages, 40 year mortgages, no down payment mortgages, and anything else they could think of to make a bigger buck (UK). The unsuspecting consumer gets suck into a deeper debt than he can swallow.

This is why all consumers are advised to ask for debt help when in the slightest doubt; as the swing from 'tight' to 'struggling' can happen so fast, even if you've enjoyed a pay raise, found better employment, or reduced your debts.

It's My Turn...

SHIZA!!!!!!

It's my turn to have the fridge go WHACKO on me!! I don't have such a passionate relationship with the fridge like Mott so no goodbye love song here msn smileys .... neither do I have her Mr.Wonderful Teo. BUT am rrrreeeeaaaallyyyyy upset that stuff in the fridge is gonna go busuk!!! SHIZA! SHIZA! SHIZA!

Last month was my junk food fridge that went WHACKO. I had to throw sooooo much ice-creams, frozen buns, milk and yogurt. This month, it's the proper food fridge where I store my meats and vegetables. AIYOOOOOOO... All my frozen "bak".... *SIGH*

The brand of the fridge? Both fridges are SHARP... provided by the landlord. If I have a choice, I would get a KELVINATOR. I tell ya...My Kelvinator belum pernah die or malfunction or operate below expectations for more than TEN YEARS!!! Really!!! And now, also have not heard my tenant complaining about my Kelvinator... SO, if anyone is out looking for a fridge, I tell you...get a KELVINATOR!!!

Summer Holidays...

{Sponsored Post}

The boys' Summer holidays will be in four weeks time... And then it's a nightmare lasting about 8 weeks!! For me. I mean. How am I going to keep them entertained constructively for that period of time? They will drive me up the wall!! That's a definite! Plus, studies have shown that kids lose an average of one month of learning during the summer break!!!! Perhaps the answer lies in a Summer Program that will help them retain their learning in a fun and interesting way! And not forgetting the fact that they will be out of mommy's hair too!

Lots of Birthdays!!!

Month of June seems like a favourite month for birthdays... For starters, Mom, Sis and H's birthdays are all in June. We have few birthday parties to go to, but I've got to decline onethat falls on a Saturday morning. Can't miss too many Swimming lessons!! Yes. I am KIASU.

Anyway, have to have S1's birthday party one month earlier too! His birthday falls right smack in the middle of Summer holidays where there will not be a soul in town! Errrr.. soul as in his classmates lah. So, most likely will have it on the 7th of July.

We have decided to have a PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN party! Kids can be pirates and fight on inflatable boats in the pool...... Watch "Pirates of Caribbean" Trilogy. Will have to get a few Jolly Rogers to decorate the house. I have about four weeks to get the party organised!

Beading Sessions

{Sponsored Post}

Just as I completed the post on my jewellery stand, I saw an opportunity to blog about beads! What good timing!!

I actually meant to join a group of ladies on their fortnightly beading sessions. These are held on alternate Tuesdays in one of the ladies' homes. But I've been too lazy to go all the way to the specialty mall to purchase the necessary supplies. Plus, the traffic jams are a big turn-off. Well, now there is no more excuse to not get started. With Lallette's online store, all the required tools, beads, charms for any jewellery-making project can be had with just a few clicks on the computer without even getting up from my comfy chair!!

Look at these cute little charms and beads from Lallette's !!! Don't you absolutely LOVE them?

My Jewellery Stand

This is the jewellery stand that I bought on Saturday. Costs about RM 80. Yeah..a tad expensive as it was retail price and not on sale .... But I've seen these stands in a Singapore Magazine and thought that I must have it!! They come in some other designs like shapely bikini gals and other period styles.....some with mou-mou ...

Precious Metals

{Sponsored Post}

I used to work in a petrochemical recycling company; and guess what made the bosses multi-millionaires? Precious Metals!!! Yes. Silver, Platinum, Palladium, Gold, Rhodium etc that are found in the spent catalysts. How does a normal folk like you and I get into precious metals investment, without burning a hole in our pockets?

Now, through Monex Deposit Company (MDC) silver, gold or other precious metals and coins can be purchased for either immediate personal delivery or to be stored at a depository of your choice. With silver offerings from under $14 per ounch , it's easy to start investing. Furthermore, silver price is on it's way up due to a multitude of reasons; primarily due to world demand outstripping annual supply. So there's no better time to start investing than right NOW!

Wife vs. Girlfriend

Friend sent me this...thought that it is funny but very true!!!

Wife is like a TV.
Girlfriend is like HandPhone.
At home watch TV.
Go out bring HP.
No money sell TV.
Got money change HP.
Sometime enjoy TV but most of the time play with HP.

Our Long Weekend Trip...

Okay, a bit "watt tatt" but still had diarrhoea on Friday morning. H said "think we should just stay at home". Of course I said NO lah... ngeh-ngeh-lai also want to keep to the plan. I have to admit that I was a bit scared on the way there...just in case I needed the toilet and there's a jam. Then die lah. Although we were caught in a little jam, my belly behaved well until we reached the hotel about 3 hours later (normally 2 hours only)... AIYO, then I started to visit the toilet very frequently and then had the chills. ALAMAK Fever some more. What to do?? Slept lah. Felt sooooo much better after the little nap. Then, we took boys to watch Pirates of the Caribbean, World's End.... quite interesting but some parts I don't really understand lah. A bit sad lor the ending I thought... Donwan to say too much in case you haven't watched!

Took boys to the nearby volcano on Saturday morning. Prior to this, boys were asking "What if the volcano erupt? Will we die? etc etc"

The pix here shows the main crater, called Queen's Crater. You can actually hear the sulphurous gas HISSING out from the ground. Think the last eruption was in 1969. YUP! This is a still active volcano. We then hired a guide to take us down to the Domas Crater on the side of the mountain. Hike took us 30 minutes downhill. Luckily, we didn't have to climb all the way up to our starting point. Otherwise sure MATI lah..

Loads of water sprouting out of the ground in the Domas Crater. Of course the water is MEGA hot. See the basket of eggs in there? We bought some eggs to boil in the hot water too. But didn't eat them lah...coz H said cracked liow and water has gone into the eggs. There were many Korean tourists sitting around one of the NOT so hot pools, soaking their feet, sipping their COLD beers and eating the hard boiled eggs that were freshly cooked in the hot pools!!

It started to drizzle as we reached our car... and then pour!!! What a bummer!! Had to cancel the rest of the excursion, i.e. to the Hot Springs and StrawberryFarm, and head back to the hotel. What did we do? Sleep lah... after the long hike, what do you expect??

Woke up refreshed. Left the boys with H, and I headed out on my own to do some shopping. This place is Factory Outlets galore!!! But didn't buy much lah...just bought a cute little jewellery stand, some scrapbooking stuff and a Nike Shorts...

Next day, we left immediately after breakfast to avoid the MAD rush back to the city...
