What is Worse?

Itch or Pain?

For me.... think Itch is worse!

My feet are still giving me problems. I have spurts of itchiness that comes and goes. And when there is an ITCH ATTACK, if there is such a term.... I will be scratching like there is NO tomorrow. Most times to the extent that my skin comes off and some bleeding occurs. H of course always screams at me, and says that this is liken to those "Self-torture fanatics that whip themselves until they bleed".
I have tried using all sorts of creams, moisturizers to steroid types, but to NO avail!!!
Am I allergic to something in my food? drink? air?
H wants to ship me off to Singapore to get it sorted out. But I told him to give me another couple of weeks. I will see an allergy specialist ....hopefully sometime this week to sort out what the f#@k it is that I am allergic to. *sigh* This is really affecting the quality of life ... I would literally spend 1/2 an hour sorting out my feet! Such a waste of time!!!
Scratch until it bleeds? Pain?
Pain. I can handle. I remember when I had S1. Caesar. I was put on morphine for the pain. But I had an allergic reaction to the drug which caused itchiness ALL over the body. I was so blardy irritated as scratching didn't alleviate the itchiness. I couldn't sleep either. And the worst of all, H was SNORING ZZZZZZ so nicely in the pull-out sofa-bed next to mine. It really p!ssed me MAX when he was sleeping so comfortably while I was suffering. I just couldn't stand the itch that I declined further dose of the morphine. I really did prefer the pain!!

cud be eczema la.

cream is hydrocortisone. can get at pharmacies... but use sparingly coz it thins the skin. mix with moisturizer, liberally.

good luck yea..

it may be fungal infection. do go to the doc to check it out. if it really is, you need to apply fungal cream for at least two weeks. and just a note of caution, do not apply cortisone to area where it's bleeding.

take care~

Big Pumpkin - Don't wear fakes lor. Ask your hubby to buy real stuff!!!

Mott - Huh? Hydrocortisone is called Dream Cream ???? Did use it but it doesn't really ease the itch leh. Good if it thins the skin as the problematic part has thickens really quick.

Sweetpea - Not fungal. Did skin scrape at two different dermatologist liow. Oh..is it? Cannot put hydrocortisone onto bleeding parts? Why ar? Absorbed too quickly by blood stream and too much gets to the liver or what?

I prefer itch anytime than pain. Like you I had experienced both at the same time when I had chicken pox. I had the pox on my throat and on my private area too. The throat was very painful so much so that when i drink, tears just came out while the bottom was itchy like hell.

For your leg thingy, you can try Eurax (stops itchiness), you can try a stronger steroid -cutivate/benovate, but best mix it with some acquese cream. If you wish to check out a dermatologist in Spore, there is one I can recommend that shares the same surname as me but no family ties. He uses steroid but since you are an adult, i think slightly less harm.

What I do with the itch on hand and legs (eczema) - is that sometimes I soak it with hot/warm water... it is a sadistic sort of itch relief. But overall, now I maintain it with just acqueuse cream.

Alternatively, you may want to consider taking some form of probiotics.

I can identify with you on the scratching/peeling till bleeding bit. While I tell my son to stop doing it, I do it myself.

WMD - Which hospital is the doctor attached to? Mount E? Gleneagles or other?

Also, what is "acqueuse" cream? Is there a brand or something?

And probiotics. Isn't that some kind of bug that aids digestion or something??
