Shi Huang-Ti

Watched a very interesting program on Shi Huang-Ti the other day. Who is Shi Huang-Ti? He was the first emperor of China and founder of the Qin dynasty. And it was he, who was buried in his mausoleum together with the famous life-sized terracotta army of six thousand men and horses at Xian.
The entire site measures some three miles across! Although the terracotta army was first discovered in the 70's, Chinese archaeologist are still conducting studies to verify ancient records on the description of the marvels of the emperor's main tomb, which is still unopened to this day. I was hoping the program was going to depict the "opening of the tomb", which was not to be.

Nevertheless, the terracotta army would still be a great attraction. I do intend to bring the boys to China to soak up some Chinese culture! But as traveling with kids is sometimes quite stressful, I would have to find kids-friendly Xian hotels that would at least have a swimming pool and a games room to keep them entertained. I'm sure that would not be too difficult, as these days, there are many good quality cheap asia hotels available that would cater to all my family's vacation requirements such as at:
